Words like the earth

£30.00

Original linocut print (unframed)

10 x 11 cm

‘Words like the earth’ is a visual poem carved in hard lino. The text is my own and recalls both something of the process through which poems emerge and the fact that, at times, wordlessness is preferred over words.

The prints have been hand-pressed onto sheets of Awagami Hosho paper which I have cut to approximately 19.5 x 20.5 cm. Hosho is a Japanese washi paper with a smooth side for printing and a more textured laid side. The ink used is a blue-black that I mix from Intaglio Prussian Blue and Carbon Black oil-based inks.

Each print is signed and dated beneath the printed area. As this is an open edition, individual prints are not numbered.
