Sunflowers

£75.00

Limited edition linocut print (unframed)

10.5 x 21 cm

‘Sunflowers’ is an original limited edition linocut inspired by an Arts & Crafts garden. The flowers of the title are a branching form of helianthus known as ‘Italian white’.

Each print has been individually hand-pressed to Awagami Shiramine Select paper with the use of a silver spoon. The colour used is Hawthorn carbon black oil-based ink. Shiramine Select is a mid-weight, acid-free archival washi paper (110 gsm) made from alpha cellulose, kozo (the bark of the mulberry tree), and hemp. The paper is a soft cream colour (like the flowers themselves, despite their name) and it has a smooth side and a more textured side. I have printed to the smooth side on sheets measuring approximately 17.5 x 28.5 cm.

Number of prints in the edition: 21

Each print is signed, dated, titled, and editioned in pencil directly beneath the image.
