Llanddwyn headland
Limited edition linocut print (unframed)
18 x 13 cm
Ynys Llanddwyn is a basalt outcrop towards the south-west point of Ynys Môn (Anglesey). The island is famous today for its lighthouse and its association with Saint Dwynwen, the Welsh patron saint of lovers.
Each print in this edition has been individually hand-pressed to Zerkall Printing paper using a baren and silver spoon. The lino block was inked with Hawthorn carbon black oil-based ink and the headland then dabbed lightly with newsprint to remove some of the ink. Zerkall Printing is a smooth, soft-white, mid-weight paper (145gsm), mould-made from part cotton rag. The sheets that I have printed onto measure approximately 26.5 x 19 cm.
Number of prints in the edition: 20
Each print is signed, dated, titled, and editioned in pencil directly beneath the image.
